Helping you connect more deeply with yourself and others.
I believe in your innate capacity for healing.
Hello, I’m Alexandria, a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. I work with adult individuals and couples in Virginia and Washington, DC. I specialize in working with attachment wounds, trauma, relationships, parenting, people pleasing, emotional dysregulation, addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. I provide talk therapy as well as experiential and somatic approaches and strive to bring my humanity, curiosity, acceptance, and authenticity.
What I find time and time again is that with a little context, we all make so much sense. As a trauma-informed and attachment-focused therapist, I know that our experiences shape our way of thinking and relating and can cause difficulty until we can see and express our pain. Oftentimes, the behaviors causing us the most difficulty are simply our best attempts at feeling better for a moment.
I invite you to consider that what you may feel is “wrong” with you may be a reasonable reaction to trauma, pain, and/or systemic injustice. My passion is to support you in reclaiming these parts of yourself and moving towards a sense of wholeness. I find that therapy is indeed a spiral path: together we hold multiple truths, perspectives, and feelings at once, and revisit earlier themes with deeper clarity.
I help individuals and couples to slow down, giving us an opportunity to see what happens emotionally, cognitively, and physiologically in difficult moments. Here, we can better understand ourselves and others, clarify the stories you believe, tend to overwhelming emotion and hurt, shift behavior, and cultivate a sense of connection and belonging.
I strive to embody radical inclusion, antiracism, and cultural humility. I enjoy working with and affirming clients of all backgrounds, races, abilities, and sexual and gender identities and welcome conversations about our experiences.
I believe in your innate capacity for healing, wisdom, and growth. Whether you are looking to heal trauma, improve your relationships, cope effectively, or better understand yourself, I’d love to support you in creating sustainable change.
