I specialize in working with attachment wounds, trauma, relationship issues, people pleasing, emotional dysregulation, addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. The clients I work with often feel that they are too much, not enough, alone, emotionally overwhelmed, unsure if their relationship(s) is healthy, and unsure if they can trust themselves. We can explore the roots of these behaviors together, gradually lessening their current impact on your life. I support clients in addressing the emotions, thought patterns, and ways of relating which can work against us and hold us back. I will prioritize your sense of safety, invite heavy emotions, and welcome the body as I journey with you to meet unknown parts of yourself. My intent is for my clients to feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe it is my job to be direct and honest in support of your healing and identified goals.
Maybe you already know the answers to the questions and challenges which have led you to seek therapy, but are having difficulty accepting and making sense of them. The way forward may lie in the emotional and physical experiences you wish would simply vanish. As a therapist, my job is to maintain a space where you can safely explore and work through these challenging internal experiences. By practicing mindfulness and sustained awareness, we can increase your comfort with these emotions and sensations and use them to better understand and meet your very valid needs.
Being trauma-informed and attachment-focused is foundational to my work - I know that our experiences, obvious or subtle, deeply impact the way we see ourselves, others, and the world. I am trained in the evidenced-based models of Emotionally Focused Therapy and Sensorimotor (somatic) Psychotherapy and additionally practice narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I employ these approaches an integrated and personalized manner, suited to your needs, personality, and strengths. I am happy to discuss these approaches with you personally!
